In the current Covid-19 pandemic we are following government guidance. That means we have made sensible changes to ensure you stay safe in North Devon. We have for example, reduced occupancy, removed paper materials and some decorative throws in your rooms. Tea and coffee making facilities are available on request, to ensure absolute cleanliness. And we’ve introduced single use toiletries for the time being.
It’s said that the Devon air, whether rolling across the hills and fields or breezing in from the sea, makes everyone relax. Together with our crisp cotton bedding, throws and cushions along with sumptuous beds, you are ensured a blissful night’s sleep. Guests love our new-look bedrooms that include all modern comforts like flat screen TVs (many with web access), ensuite bathrooms and welcome trays.
Flexibility for 2021
Your booking is truly flexible (without any penalty charges) when booked direct with The Carlton. Alterations, cancellations and changes to your booking may be made as close as 48 hours to your arrival time. Please note a group booking (of more than four rooms or eight guests) may be subject to different terms and conditions*.
Tariff
Room rates start at just £45 per person per night in low season and vary according to the time of year that you stay with us and the room type.
Our standard tariff is inclusive of:
- En-suite bath or shower
- A choice of fully cooked English and Continental style breakfast options.
- VAT at the prevailing rate on booking
All are based on nightly room use. Remember to call us direct to book and ensure that you are getting the very best deal and price for those special rates that offer little extras as part of the deal, like a drink on arrival or extended check out options. Supplements
For the sole occupancy of Double, Twin or Queen bedded room, add a £20 per night supplement to the per person rate. An additional sofa bed can be supplied into King sized bedrooms at a rate of £10 per night (breakfast included) and just £27.50 per night (dinner & breakfast included) for any guest aged 13 years and older. Children up to the age of 12 years inclusive have a reduced rate of £8 and £20 respectively per night.
Infants stay for free. We can provide a baby cot at £5 per night. Dogs can stay with their owners at a rate of £8 per animal per night.

We have adapted rooms with a wet room, grab rails and space for wheeled access, as well as the option to have a carer stay in room or adjacent. (2) Two rooms are accessed by a flight of stairs. All other rooms have flat/lift access.
Single Room
Our single room layout and design is very unique and individual as you would expect in a Victorian-era building.
Our Single rooms have been fully refurbished in a contemporary style and have a 3-foot single bed. Black out curtains and bedside phone & lighting control with flat screen television. Also equipped with a personal bar, personal safe, iron & board, fan and tea & coffee making facilities. All have ensuite shower rooms with exclusive Ebony toiletries and fluffy towels.

Double/ Twin Room
Our double or twin layout and design is very unique and individual as you would expect in a Victorian-era building.
These rooms have been fully refurbished in a contemporary style with individual art and have a 4’6” matrimonial bed in the double and two 3” single beds in the twin. Benefiting from quality black out curtains and individual bedside lighting control with flat screen television. Also equipped with a personal bar, personal safe, iron & board, fan and tea/coffee making facilities. All have ensuite bathrooms with fluffy towels and exclusive Ebony toiletries.

Queen Room
Our queen room layout and design is very unique and individual as you would expect in a Victorian-era building.
A larger 5” Respa matrimonial bed in a fully refurbished contemporary room. Black out curtains, bedside phone & lighting control with flat screen television. Also equipped with a personal bar, personal safe, iron & board, fan and tea & coffee making facilities. Ensuite shower room with exclusive Ebony toiletries and fluffy towels. Décor is stylish greys with natural wood finishes.

King Room
Our king room layout and design is very unique and individual as you would expect in a Victorian-era building.
These are very large rooms. Rooms are fully refurbished in a contemporary style with a 6" king sized bed, black out curtains, dining table, desk, bedside phone and lighting control individual art and flat screen television.
Also equipped with a personal bar, personal safe, iron & board, fan and tea/coffee making facilities. Most have ensuite shower rooms and one with shower over bath, under tile heating with fluffy white towels and exclusive Ebony toiletries. All rooms have brand new windows and double-glazed casements ensure a good night’s sleep.

Triple/ Quad Room
Our triple or quad layout and design is very unique and individual as you would expect in a Victorian-era building.
The triple is a large room, fully refurbished with a queen-sized matrimonial bed and 3-ft single bed, great for smaller families or individuals wishing to share. The quad is two rooms with wider access to bath room with a 3’6” matrimonial bed, plus 3” single bed and sofa bed, ideal for guests who have mobility issues, larger families and those that want additional space. Rooms are fully refurbished in a contemporary style, black out curtains, bedside phone, lighting control and flat screen TV. Equipped with a personal bar, personal safe, iron & board, fan and tea/coffee making facilities. Ensuite with shower over bath, under tile heating, fluffy towels and Ebony toiletries.

Deluxe Suite
Our deluxe suite layout and design is very unique and individual as you would expect in a Victorian-era building.
